Learning Objectives: This course will: 1) Identify various tests that can be performed to assess image quality performance and key parameters that affect each aspect of performance. 2) Describe testing procedures that address aspects of axial and helical scanning as well as some that are unique to multidetector scanners. 3) Describe how technical parameter selection may involve tradeoffs in competing aspects of image quality and radiation dose.
Learning Objectives: 1) To discuss the data acquisition hardware of state of the art multislice CT systems such as detectors, electronics, and optics. 2) To provide a basis for understanding, the talk will discuss how the data acquisition hardware can affect noise, dose, and artifacts.
